T&G have been working hard to raise money by eating there way through a charity tuck shop and have successfully raised a grand total of £1000 for the Great Western Air Ambulance charity.
Since it’s launch in June 2008,the Great Western Air Ambulance flies seven days a week, it’s one of the busiest Air Ambulances in the UK – indeed, they expect to carry out more than 800 missions in the coming year.
They are only one of four Air Ambulances in the UK that works to an advanced medical model with a senior specialist doctor and a paramedic on board who are trained to critical care standard. This means that they are more like a flying hospital than a traditional air ambulance and are able to carry the resources of an A&E department or intensive care unit direct to the scene of the incident, so a much-improved outcome is achieved for patients.
They are a charity in their own right, and are funded entirely by public donations. The service needs to raise more than £1 million a year to keep flying. If you would like to help this worthwhile cause then log onto <"http://www.greatwesternairambulance.com">
The event, held at the Lancaster in London, recognised top achievement in a range of categories covering retailers, suppliers, people and products.
